Resume5 ("Resume5," "we," or "us") is committed to protecting the personal information that you submit to us and the personal information we publish about the people, businesses, organizations, and places in our network. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information.
Information We Collect
People we verify and publish. Resume5 publishes profiles of individuals ("people") who have been verified in person by a Town Ambassador. For a person, we collect and may publish their first and last name, a photograph, the U.S. state associated with them, and the approximate GPS location where the verification took place. We also collect the person’s email address, which is used to obtain and record their consent and is not published. A person’s profile is only published after they have been verified in person and have provided their consent (see “Consent and Removal” below).
Businesses, organizations, and places. For these listings we collect and may publish the name, category, address, contact details, website, social media links, photographs, and the GPS location of the in-person verification.
Town Ambassadors. For our licensed Town Ambassadors we collect a name, email address, phone number, photograph, and assigned territory in order to operate their accounts and display their public ambassador profile.
Newsletter subscribers. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your first and last name and your email address.
Listing reports. If you use the “Report a change” feature on a listing, we collect the email address you provide so that we can confirm your report and follow up. Reports are reviewed internally and are not published.
Site usage information. When you visit our website we automatically collect general usage information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, clicks, scrolling, and general navigation patterns, through the analytics tools described below.
Consent and Removal (People)
We publish information about an individual only after that person has been verified in person by a Town Ambassador and has provided their consent by confirming through an email we send them. Consent is voluntary.
You may withdraw your consent at any time. If you are an individual whose profile appears on Resume5 and you wish to correct your information or withdraw your consent and have your profile removed, please contact us at hello@resume5.com. Upon a verified request, we will remove your published profile from our network.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Resume5 network, to publish verified listings and profiles as described above, to obtain and record consent, to send newsletters and service communications to people who have requested them, to respond to reports and requests, to process Town Ambassador accounts and payments, and to understand how our website is used so we can improve it.
Analytics & Cookies
Resume5 uses analytics tools — including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — to understand how visitors use our website. These tools may use cookies to collect information such as pages visited, time spent on the site, clicks, scrolling, and general navigation patterns. This helps us understand what’s working well and where we can improve the experience for everyone.
Microsoft Clarity may also record anonymized session activity (such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling) to help us see how people use our pages. Clarity is configured to mask sensitive information and does not collect data entered into password fields or payment forms. You can read more about Clarity’s data practices at clarity.microsoft.com.
These cookies are used for analytics only. We do not use them for advertising, and we do not run advertising or remarketing campaigns based on your activity on our site. Please note that nothing in a cookie allows outside parties to identify you individually. Most web browsers allow you to control or disable cookies through their settings.
Payments
Payments made to Resume5 (for example, Town Ambassador license fees) are processed by our third-party payment provider, Authorize.net. Authorize.net handles all payment card information directly. Resume5 does not collect, process, or store your full payment card details on our own systems.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following ways:
Publicly, as part of the network. Verified listing and profile information described above is published on our website and is intended to be publicly visible and discoverable, including by search engines and AI services.
With service providers. We share information with the third-party providers that help us operate the service, including Supabase (database hosting), Resend (email delivery), Vercel and Cloudflare (website hosting and delivery), Authorize.net (payment processing), and Google (maps and location lookups). These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
When required by law. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to operate the Resume5 network and for the purposes described in this Policy. When a person withdraws consent and requests removal, we remove their published profile. We may retain limited records as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Your Choices and Rights
You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. Individuals may request access to, correction of, or removal of their published profile as described in “Consent and Removal” above. To make any privacy request, contact us at hello@resume5.com.
We will only add you to an email list if you have requested it. All of our email services include a simple unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email that lets you remove yourself from any list. We take our reputation seriously and have a no-tolerance policy against spam.
Email is not recognized as a fully secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send sensitive personal information to us by email.
Children’s Privacy
Resume5 is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child’s information has been provided to us, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
