Resume Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This policy is a working draft pending legal review and does not yet constitute final legal terms.

This Privacy Policy explains how Resume5 (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you create a verified online resume at resume5.com. It applies specifically to online resumes and is separate from our general site Privacy Policy.

What we collect

When a Resume5 Town Ambassador verifies you in person, and when you build your resume, we collect: your name, email address, a photo taken in person by the Ambassador, your declared state and town, an optional phone number, and the professional information you choose to provide (such as work experience, education, and skills). You provide this information voluntarily.

How we use it

We use your information to create and publish your verified online resume, to let you sign in and edit it, to display it on your public resume page and on relevant town pages, and to contact you about your resume (for example, to confirm it is still current). We do not sell your personal information.

What is public

When you publish your resume, the information on it — including your name, photo, declared location, and the professional details you added — becomes publicly visible at your resume address and may be indexed by search engines and AI systems. Your email address is not shown publicly. Your phone number is shown only if you choose to make it public. You control what appears by editing your resume, and you can unpublish it at any time.

Your verified photo

Your resume photo is taken in person by a Town Ambassador as part of verification. Because the photo is part of what makes your resume trustworthy, it can only be changed by a Town Ambassador re-taking it in person — it is not self-editable. We store it securely and display it on your resume.

Your choices

You may edit your resume at any time through your dashboard. You may unpublish it, which removes it from public view. You may also request that we remove your information entirely. To make a removal request, contact us using the details below.

Data retention

We keep your resume information for as long as your resume is active. If you withdraw or ask us to remove it, we take your resume down from public view; limited records of the verification may be retained for integrity and audit purposes.

Security

We use reputable service providers to store data and secure our systems, and we restrict access to personal information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Age requirement

Online resumes are available only to individuals 18 years of age or older.
