Resume Terms of Service

Last updated: July 27, 2026

These terms are a working draft pending legal review and do not yet constitute final legal terms.

These Terms of Service govern your use of verified online resumes on Resume5 (“we,” “us”). They apply specifically to online resumes and are separate from our general site Terms. By building or publishing a resume, you agree to these terms.

Who can use resumes

Online resumes are available only to individuals 18 years of age or older who have been verified in person by a Resume5 Town Ambassador. You may create a resume only for yourself.

Your account

You create a password to access and edit your resume. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Your content

You are responsible for the information you put on your resume, and you agree that it is accurate and truthful. You agree not to include false, misleading, unlawful, infringing, or offensive content, and not to impersonate anyone or misrepresent your experience. You retain ownership of the information you provide, and you grant us permission to display and publish it as part of your resume.

Verification and your photo

Your resume is verified in person by a Town Ambassador, who also takes your photo. To preserve the integrity of verification, your photo can only be changed by a Town Ambassador re-taking it in person. Verification credit for your resume remains permanently with the Ambassador who verified you.

Publishing, editing, and withdrawing

Publishing your resume makes it public. You may edit it at any time, and you may unpublish or withdraw it, which removes it from public view. Withdrawing your resume does not remove the record that a verification took place.

Removal by us

We may remove or unpublish a resume that we believe violates these terms, is inaccurate or fraudulent, or is the subject of a valid complaint, with or without notice.

No warranties

Resumes are provided “as is.” While we verify identity and presence in person, we do not guarantee the accuracy of the professional information an individual provides about themselves. You use resumes and rely on their content at your own discretion.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Resume5 is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of resumes or from information published on them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of your resume after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
